Assurance in suffering

This message goes to our friends who are going through trials and sufferings that seem unbearable at the moment, particularly those having been diagnosed with medical conditions.

Be assured that as sons and daughters of the Most High God — as children of the Sovereign God who made the heavens and the earth out of nothing– everything that happens to you, happened FOR A PURPOSE.

Yes, everything that happened to you and everything that IS happening to you right now and everything that WILL happen to you in the future — be it good or bad — even those that seem to burn you to the ground, had been approved and allowed by Him. You have the story of Job and of Peter as proof.

The LORD is sovereign; and the Bible gives us a blessed assurance that this sovereign, ALL POWERFUL, All Knowing GOD is on our side of the battle.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

-Romans 8:28-30

He is fighting our fight, working ALL things together, causing all things together, for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

Everything that happens has a purpose.

And what is the purpose? to conform us to the image of His Son.

And if it was allowed by Him, then we are assured that this will bring us closer to being like His Son, Jesus — Called, justified, glorified.

Even if Satan wishes to destroy you through these trials and sufferings, He first must lay down his evil plans before the counsel of the Most High God, the same loving GOD who always has our best interest in His mind. If the Lord does not see anything in that evil plan that will accomplish His purpose, the plans and petitions of Satan are all denied.

Everything that has a purpose, has an end.

They don’t stay forever. No matter how strong storms are, they don’t stay. Either they move away, or they melt.

The same is true about the storms of our lives. Once their purpose are met, they have no other way but out of our lives. And again,  the purpose is to conform us to the image of His Son.

God’s Everlasting Love

Everything that God does is motivated by love. Even if sometimes we don’t understand.

Allow me to paraphrase Romans 8:31-39:

What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? This is the same GOD who did not spare His own Son, how shall He not also freely give us all things? And who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? Who or what shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or death? NO!!

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is always for a happy ending

Everything God allowed into our lives, in the end will bring glory to His name and joy to the lives of those involved.  God is not a sadistic Lord, He does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow (Lamentations 3:33), nor does He take pleasure in the death of the wicked (Eze 18:23).

I hope and pray that God opens your eyes, for you to see that these things happened not to harm you, but to give you strength, renewed hope in His power, and make you a better person in preparation to the future he himself prepared for you.  He prepared your future, He prepared you.

I pray that you see this not as a warning but as assurance, that He is watching over you and He is ACTIVELY involved in your life. He gives this and He sees this is GOOD. So let us thank the Lord for the sickness and diseases and financial setbacks and all forms of lost — the LORD gives, the LORD will also take away.

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So if you don’t see His plans
if you don’t understand
If you can’t trace His hands
